Taz-Mania is a cartoon show produced by Warner Bros. Animation from 1991–1993, broadcast in the United States on Fox from 1991-1995. The show follows the adventures of the classic Looney Tunes character, Taz (The Tasmanian Devil) in the fictional land of Tazmania (based on Tasmania).
Similar to its other sister WB cartoons of its time, such as Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures, Taz-Mania frequently broke the fourth wall, and often made jokes showing that Taz could actually speak perfectly normally when he wanted to. The intro indicates that, in this rendering of Tasmania, "the sky's always yellow, rain or shine". The title song is performed by Jess Harnell and Jim Cummings.












That popular Tasmanian Devil that we all know as Taz is sitting at home one day listening to a family

member tell a compelling story about how the land of Tazmania was once ruled by giant prehistoric seabirds. We all know that Taz is among the biggest of fans of eating almost everything in sight and upon hearing the story, he just can't wait to run, or spin, as fast as he can out the door to find one of these giant eggs to greedily satisfy his ever-growing hunger.

Back when I had just received a Sega Genesis for Christmas and still didn't have any games other than the great Sonic The Hedgehog, I remember seeing a certain commercial of Taz-Mania countless times on TV. Its graphics were unbelievable, it looked a

lot like a real cartoon, and I absolutely had to have it! I bought it the first chance I got with my own money.







All the adventures of Taz-Mania take place in Tasmania, the island country that's right off the south eastern coast of Australia. There are several different kinds of terrain and climates that Taz must venture through en route to finding and seizing his luxurious snack. Not-so-deserted deserts with quicksand that will eat anything stuck inside, frozen landscapes packed with slippery ground and water that can freeze a Tasmanian Devil to death in seconds, and hyperactive jungles with steep, deadly cliffs are only a few of the places that Taz must get past in this action-packed 2-D platformer.

















The gameplay is just like that of the typical platformer, for the most part. While making your way through the various landscapes, you'll be doing a lot of jumping from platform to platform, collecting items for energy and extra lives, and so on. Of course, you can get rid of certain adversaries by jumping on top of their heads, but Taz's main nemesis-defeating tactic will be to use his whirling attack in which he literally spins so fast that he looks like a real-life tornado. There are, however, a few fun parts to experience in Taz-Mania. You'll have to ride an underground mine cart and use a switch to make the cart 'stand up', so to speak, to avoid crashing into stationary parts of the tracks that are in the way. In the ice level, you can stand on floating pieces of ice and they will instantly sink from your overbearing weight. Most of the time, this will result in your touching the below zero temperatures of the water and literally being frozen into an ice cube if you stand on it too long, but stand on one certain chunk of floating ice and you won't fall into the water. Instead, Taz will fall through a hole and instantly be underground amongst a bunch of tasty, energizing foods, and maybe even an extra life or two. The Tasmanian devil (Sarcophilus harrisii) is a carnivorous marsupial of the family Dasyuridae, now found in the wild only on the Australian island state of Tasmania. The size of a small dog, it became the largest carnivorous marsupial in the world following the extinction of the thylacine in 1936. It is characterised by its stocky and muscular build, black fur, pungent odour, extremely loud and disturbing screech, keen sense of smell, and ferocity when feeding. The Tasmanian devil's large head and neck allow it to generate the strongest bite per unit body mass of any living mammal, and it hunts prey and scavenges carrion as well as eating household products if humans are living nearby. Although it is usually solitary, it sometimes eats with other devils and defecates in a communal location. Unlike most other dasyurids, the devil thermoregulates effectively and is active during the middle of the day without overheating. Despite its rotund appearance, the devil is capable of surprising speed and endurance, and can climb trees and swim across rivers.











t is believed that ancient marsupials migrated from what is now South America to Australia tens of millions of years ago during the time of Gondwana, and that they evolved as Australia became more arid. Fossils of species similar to modern devils have been found, but it is not known whether they were ancestors of the contemporary species, or whether the current devils co-existed with these species. The date that the Tasmanian devil disappeared from the Australian mainland is unclear; most evidence suggests they had contracted to three relict populations around 3000 years ago. A tooth found in Augusta, Western Australia has been dated to 430 years ago, but archaeologist Oliver Brown disputes this and considers the devil's mainland extinction to have occurred around 3000 years ago.[2] This disappearance is usually blamed on dingoes, which are absent from Tasmania. Because they were seen as a threat to livestock and animals that humans hunted for fur in Tasmania, devils were hunted and became endangered. In 1941, the devils, which were originally seen as implacably vicious, became officially protected. Since then, scientists have contended that earlier concerns that the devils were the most significant threat to livestock were overestimated and misplaced.











Devils are not monogamous, and their reproductive process is very robust and competitive. Males fight one another for the females, and then guard their partners to prevent female infidelity. Females can ovulate three times in as many weeks during the mating season, and 80% of two-year-old females are seen to be pregnant during the annual mating season. Females average four breeding seasons in their life and give birth to 20–30 live young after three weeks' gestation. The newborn are pink, lack fur, have indistinct facial features and weigh around 0.20 g (0.0071 oz) at birth. As there are only four nipples in the pouch, competition is fierce and few newborns survive. The young grow rapidly and are ejected from the pouch after around 100 days, weighing roughly 200 g (7.1 oz). The young become independent after around nine months, so the female spends most of her year in activities related to childbirth and rearing.











Since the late 1990s, devil facial tumour disease has drastically reduced the devil population and now threatens the survival of the species, which in 2008 was declared to be endangered. Programs are currently being undertaken by the Government of Tasmania to reduce the impact of the disease, including an initiative to build up a group of healthy devils in captivity, isolated from the disease. While the thylacine was extant it preyed on the devil, which targeted young and unattended thylacine cubs in their dens. The name "Doraemon" translates roughly to "stray". Unusually, the name "Doraemon" (ドラえもん) is written in a mixture of two Japanese scripts: katakana (ドラ) and hiragana (えもん). "Dora" is from "dora neko" (brazen fox,stray fox, どら猫), and is a corruption of nora (stray). "Emon" is a component of male given names, such as Goemon, though no longer as popular as in the past. "Dora" is not from dora meaning gong, but due to the homophony, the series puns on this, with Doraemon loving dorayaki.








Doraemon is a Japanese manga series created by Fujiko F. Fujio (the pen name of Hiroshi Fujimoto) which later became an anime series and an Asian franchise. The series is about an earless robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a schoolboy, Nobita Nobi. Doraemon has a pocket from which he produces many gadgets, medicines, and tools from the future. The pocket is called yojigen-pocket (lit. fourth-dimensional pocket). Some of the gadgets (dogu) are based on real Japanese household devices with fanciful twists, but most are completely science fiction (although some may be based on folklore or religious stories).







Thousands of dogu have been featured in Doraemon. The number of dogu has been approximated at 4,500. It is this constant variety which makes Doraemon popular even among adult readers/viewers. In the series, the availability of dogu depends sometimes on the money Doraemon has available, and he often says some dogu are expensive in the future. The more famous ones include the "bamboo-copter" (very similar to the ones that appears on the older series of Beany and Cecil), a small head accessory that allows flight; the "Anywhere Door", a door that opens up to any place the user wishes; and the "Time Machine". Some of the recurring dogu appear also in Fujiko F. Fujio's other works such as 21-emon, Kaibutsu-kun, Kiteretsu Daihyakka, Mikio to Mikio or Paman.



















The series first appeared in December 1969, when it was published simultaneously in six different magazines. In total, 1,344 stories were created in the original series, which are published by Shogakukan under the Tentomushi manga brand, extending to forty-five volumes. The volumes are collected in the Takaoka Central Library in Toyama, Japan, where both Fujiko Fujio were born. Viz Media bought the license to the Doraemon manga in the 1990s for an English-language release, but canceled it without explanation before any volumes were released. The story began when Nobi Nobita a young primary school student was visited by a strange being that climbed out of his study desk. The strange being ate Nobita’s snack then climbed back inside the desk.

Later, the being turns out to be called as Doraemon, a robot cat sent back from 22nd century by Nobita’s great-great grandson to improve his descendant’s future.

Not only that Doraemon is a robot cat from the future, he also has a fourth-dimensional pocket on his tummy where he can take out many useful tools from the future. Even though he is a robot cat, he doesn’t have ears since they were bitten by rats (thus impacting in a phobia of the creature). Doraemon later stay in Nobita’s house and become a part of Nobita’s life. Nobita’s parents even think of him like their second child.







Well, I’ve been watching Doraemon since i was in kindergarten! I even remember waking up every Sunday morning diligently just to catch a new episode of the cartoon! Lol.

Recently, when I was browsing about some stuff I stumbled upon this blog where the writer give out one of the many rumoured ending of Doraemon series. I was very shocked with the ending and of course feel touched about it even if it’s not really the official ending.











Doraemon is a part of my childhood as with many other people in the world. I personally still absolutely love it until now! Who can resist that cute blue robot cat? Ok, Hello Kitty is cute but it can’t even talk! and as quoted from Time magazine, it probably has no whatever existence other than to be cute. Not that i don’t like Hello Kitty, i love it but the kitty can’t be compared with a huge icon like Doraemon.
















Doraemon is like a work of magic! He bring hopes and dreams and of course imagination to my childhood! I remember watching the cartoon, reading the comic books.. ah..
