Taz-Mania is a cartoon show produced by Warner Bros. Animation from 1991–1993, broadcast in the United States on Fox from 1991-1995. The show follows the adventures of the classic Looney Tunes character, Taz (The Tasmanian Devil) in the fictional land of Tazmania (based on Tasmania).
Similar to its other sister WB cartoons of its time, such as Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures, Taz-Mania frequently broke the fourth wall, and often made jokes showing that Taz could actually speak perfectly normally when he wanted to. The intro indicates that, in this rendering of Tasmania, "the sky's always yellow, rain or shine". The title song is performed by Jess Harnell and Jim Cummings.

Back when I had just received a Sega Genesis for Christmas and still didn't have any games other than the great Sonic The Hedgehog, I remember seeing a certain commercial of Taz-Mania countless times on TV. Its graphics were unbelievable, it looked a

lot like a real cartoon, and I absolutely had to have it! I bought it the first chance I got with my own money.

All the adventures of Taz-Mania take place in Tasmania, the island country that's right off the south eastern coast of Australia. There are several different kinds of terrain and climates that Taz must venture through en route to finding and seizing his luxurious snack. Not-so-deserted deserts with quicksand that will eat anything stuck inside, frozen landscapes packed with slippery ground and water that can freeze a Tasmanian Devil to death in seconds, and hyperactive jungles with steep, deadly cliffs are only a few of the places that Taz must get past in this action-packed 2-D platformer.

The gameplay is just like that of the typical platformer, for the most part. While making your way through the various landscapes, you'll be doing a lot of jumping from platform to platform, collecting items for energy and extra lives, and so on. Of course, you can get rid of certain adversaries by jumping on top of their heads, but Taz's main nemesis-defeating tactic will be to use his whirling attack in which he literally spins so fast that he looks like a real-life tornado. There are, however, a few fun parts to experience in Taz-Mania. You'll have to ride an underground mine cart and use a switch to make the cart 'stand up', so to speak, to avoid crashing into stationary parts of the tracks that are in the way. In the ice level, you can stand on floating pieces of ice and they will instantly sink from your overbearing weight. Most of the time, this will result in your touching the below zero temperatures of the water and literally being frozen into an ice cube if you stand on it too long, but stand on one certain chunk of floating ice and you won't fall into the water. Instead, Taz will fall through a hole and instantly be underground amongst a bunch of tasty, energizing foods, and maybe even an extra life or two. I like that.

The Tasmanian devil (Sarcophilus harrisii) is a carnivorous marsupial of the family Dasyuridae, now found in the wild only on the Australian island state of Tasmania. The size of a small dog, it became the largest carnivorous marsupial in the world following the extinction of the thylacine in 1936. Since then, scientists have contended that earlier concerns that the devils were the most significant threat to livestock were overestimated and misplaced.

Devils are not monogamous, and their reproductive process is very robust and competitive. Males fight one another for the females, and then guard their partners to prevent female infidelity. Females can ovulate three times in as many weeks during the mating season, and 80% of two-year-old females are seen to be pregnant during the annual mating season. Females average four breeding seasons in their life and give birth to 20–30 live young after three weeks' gestation. The newborn are pink, lack fur, have indistinct facial features and weigh around 0.20 g (0.0071 oz) at birth. As there are only four nipples in the pouch, competition is fierce and few newborns survive. The young grow rapidly and are ejected from the pouch after around 100 days, weighing roughly 200 g (7.1 oz). The young become independent after around nine months, so the female spends most of her year in activities related to childbirth and rearing.

Since the late 1990s, devil facial tumour disease has drastically reduced the devil population and now threatens the survival of the species, which in 2008 was declared to be endangered. Programs are currently being undertaken by the Government of Tasmania to reduce the impact of the disease, including an initiative to build up a group of healthy devils in captivity, isolated from the disease. While the thylacine was extant it preyed on the devil, which targeted young and unattended thylacine cubs in their dens. Nowadays, the devil is also preyed upon by the illegally introduced red fox, and localised populations of devils have also been severely reduced by collisions with motor vehicles, particularly when they are eating roadkill themselves.

Do you know Doraemon? yeach, it’s comic character created by Fujiko F. Fujiya (if i’m not mistaken), Japan’s comic writer.
I read this comic since I was 10 years-old.
As you know, Doraemon is a story with no ending, but this small story is about the “last episode” of the famous cartoon.
Someone made this story (finally I know the name, Nobuo Sato) and uploaded it to his homepage, and it is now widely spread all around Japan through the internet.

One day,a very normal day, Nobita came back from school and went upstairs of his house. Doraemon was there sleeping, just like the other normal day.
“Hey, Doraemon, please wake up, lets play!” but Doraemon does not wake up.
Nobita thought that Doraemon is tired, so he went out to play with Shizuka-chan and other folks. After few hours, he returned to his home, but Doraemon was still sleeping. Nobita felt something strange, and tried to wake him up. But there was no reply. He became to feel afraid, and tried to wake him up, but whatever he does, Doraemon did not wake up.

“I mean, if I replace his battery, every memory of you will be eternally lost from his brain program”.
“WHAT?????”
“Shall I do that?”
Nobita closed his eyes. He cried, but after few minutes, he stopped crying,and quietly told Dorami-chan.
“Dorami-chan, thanks for coming here. I will take care of the rest. You have to go back to your future time now”.
Dorami-chan could not decide what to do, but anyway she hugged Nobita quietly, and she went back home. After she went back,Nobita carried Doraemon and placed him into the shelf.

Year 2010, Nobita grew up. Since that day, he changed.
He studied hard, did not cry anymore, and he lived without Doraemon. He told Shizuka and other folks that Doraemon had to go back to his future, and could not meet him anymore. Shizuka was impressed to Nobita’s mysterious appearance which became completely different from 10years ago.
They fell in love, and married. Nobita became a scientist. He made a laboratory in his room, and was studying hard with his job all day. He told Shizuka not to come into the room, as it is very dangerous inside.
But one day, he called Shizuka and told her to come in to his room. It was the first time for her to enter her husband’s room. The moment she went in, she lost her words.

Nobita exactly knew that something was different. This never happened before. He began crying, but though he screamed or cried, the famous fat-cat-robot did not make a single move at all. He came up to one idea, and jumped into his desk-the time machine-and went to the future to meet Dorami-chan, Doraemon’s sister. He begged her for help, and forced her to go with him back to 1998.
After a short trip again back to 1998 by the time machine, Dorami-chan looked all over his brother Doraemon to see what was wrong with him.
After few minutes, she said “the battery is out”. Nobita was relieved, and said,”battery? so he is not broken right? please replace or recharge his battery, and put him back like before”.
But Dorami-chan shook her head and said,”Nobita-san, should I really do that?”.
Nobita said “what? what do you mean?” Dorami-chan replied; “His main battery is here, close to his pocket. And it ran out. But originally, he had a back-up battery in his ears, but as you know, his ears were eaten by a rat very many years ago, so he does not have a back-up battery now”.

McDonald's gave us these cool Smurf collectible figurines in conjunction with the live-action "The Smurfs" movie. You know, the one that stars Neil Patrick Harris aka Doogie Howser. I haven't seen the movie yet but I was mighty tempted to get the Jakks Pacific Smurfs figurines. They were pretty costly so when I heard that McDonald's Malaysia was finally bringing in their Smurfs collectible figurines, I was relieved! These 10 figurines were supposed to be sold according to their weekly schedules but it wasn't to be...

The first 3 figurines were sold to the public without any hiccup and most collectors had assumed that McDonald's was gonna stick to their schedule, so there's absolutely no need to push and shove to get these figurines folks! And then, the unthinkable happened. By the time the second batch were sold, they announced that they were already selling figurines from the LAST batch simply because people were clamouring for these collectibles and McDonald's outlets weren't able to cope with the demand. I was lucky as my dear wife went 'hunting' for these figurines at different McDonald's outlets while I was at work. Without her assistance I definitely won't be able to complete the lineup!

Last I heard, Smurfette and Papa Smurf were the hardest to get, presumably of the lower quantity produced (or something). A quick check on eVilbay shows that each of these two can fetch up to RM30 (or approx USD10) already! Daylight robbery!!!

Scalper ahoy! Here is a quick snapshot I took a couple of days ago of a suspected scalper at the McDonald's outlet near my place. For the record, he took ALL of the remaining stock left at the outlet. The picture below does not do him justice at all. He eventually left the outlet with one bulging plastic bag with his loot...and a smirk on his face! So guys, let's do ourselves a favour and NOT buy any of the overpriced Smurfs collectible on eVilbay....

The Smurfs, also known as The Smurfs Movie, is an upcoming live-action/CGI-animated family film directed by Raja Gosnell, written by J. David Stem and David N. Formed in the wake of grunge music breaking into the mainstream, the Nashville-based band Bleach managed to find commercial and critical success by blending its Christian message with a sound that fit well with alternative pop acts of the period. Consisting of lead singer Davy Baysinger, guitarist Brad Ford, bass player Todd Kirby, and drummer Matt Gingrich, the group formed and began gigging while attending Kentucky Christian College. And Ichigo later discovers that another of his classmates, Ishida, actually comes from a long line of spirit users called Quincys.

The name "Doraemon" translates roughly to "stray". Unusually, the name "Doraemon" (ドラえもん) is written in a mixture of two Japanese scripts: katakana (ドラ) and hiragana (えもん). "Dora" is from "dora neko" (brazen fox,stray fox, どら猫), and is a corruption of nora (stray). "Emon" is a component of male given names, such as Goemon, though no longer as popular as in the past. "Dora" is not from dora meaning gong, but due to the homophony, the series puns on this, with Doraemon loving dorayaki.

Doraemon is a Japanese manga series created by Fujiko F. Fujio (the pen name of Hiroshi Fujimoto) which later became an anime series and an Asian franchise. The series is about an earless robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a schoolboy, Nobita Nobi. Doraemon has a pocket from which he produces many gadgets, medicines, and tools from the future. The pocket is called yojigen-pocket (lit. fourth-dimensional pocket). Some of the gadgets (dogu) are based on real Japanese household devices with fanciful twists, but most are completely science fiction (although some may be based on folklore or religious stories).

Thousands of dogu have been featured in Doraemon. The number of dogu has been approximated at 4,500. It is this constant variety which makes Doraemon popular even among adult readers/viewers. In the series, the availability of dogu depends sometimes on the money Doraemon has available, and he often says some dogu are expensive in the future. The more famous ones include the "bamboo-copter" (very similar to the ones that appears on the older series of Beany and Cecil), a small head accessory that allows flight; the "Anywhere Door", a door that opens up to any place the user wishes; and the "Time Machine". Some of the recurring dogu appear also in Fujiko F. Fujio's other works such as 21-emon, Kaibutsu-kun, Kiteretsu Daihyakka, Mikio to Mikio or Paman.

The series first appeared in December 1969, when it was published simultaneously in six different magazines. In total, 1,344 stories were created in the original series, which are published by Shogakukan under the Tentomushi manga brand, extending to forty-five volumes. The volumes are collected in the Takaoka Central Library in Toyama, Japan, where both Fujiko Fujio were born. Viz Media bought the license to the Doraemon manga in the 1990s for an English-language release, but canceled it without explanation before any volumes were released. However, Doraemon: Nobita's Dinosaur 2006 (The 26th film in the franchise) got a private screening in Washington D.C. in November 2008.

The story began when Nobi Nobita a young primary school student was visited by a strange being that climbed out of his study desk. The strange being ate Nobita’s snack then climbed back inside the desk.

Later, the being turns out to be called as Doraemon, a robot cat sent back from 22nd century by Nobita’s great-great grandson to improve his descendant’s future.

Not only that Doraemon is a robot cat from the future, he also has a fourth-dimensional pocket on his tummy where he can take out many useful tools from the future. Even though he is a robot cat, he doesn’t have ears since they were bitten by rats (thus impacting in a phobia of the creature). Doraemon later stay in Nobita’s house and become a part of Nobita’s life. Nobita’s parents even think of him like their second child.

Well, I’ve been watching Doraemon since i was in kindergarten! I even remember waking up every Sunday morning diligently just to catch a new episode of the cartoon! Lol.

Recently, when I was browsing about some stuff I stumbled upon this blog where the writer give out one of the many rumoured ending of Doraemon series. I was very shocked with the ending and of course feel touched about it even if it’s not really the official ending.

Doraemon is a part of my childhood as with many other people in the world. I personally still absolutely love it until now! Who can resist that cute blue robot cat? Ok, Hello Kitty is cute but it can’t even talk! and as quoted from Time magazine, it probably has no whatever existence other than to be cute. Not that i don’t like Hello Kitty, i love it but the kitty can’t be compared with a huge icon like Doraemon.

Doraemon is like a work of magic! He bring hopes and dreams and of course imagination to my childhood! I remember watching the cartoon, reading the comic books.. ah..

‘It started when a TV show was popular with kids’ Even thought the show has only been around since 2005 it feels like it’s been a movie in waiting almost since day one. Wildly popular with an insanely catchy theme tune (expertly paraphrased above) the toon has already had 2 live action TV movies, both directed by Bill & Ted’s Alex Winter, Ben 10 Race Against Time and Ben 10 Alien Swarm.

The original Ben 10 cartoon featured a 10 year old Ben Tennyson travelling America in the Rustbucket (an RV with modifications) with his grandpa Max and ‘twin’ cousin Gwen. At the beginning of the trip Ben & Gwen go to what appears to be a meteor crash site and Ben ends up with a piece of alien technology, called the Omnitrix on his wrist. The device allows Ben to transform into 10 different alien ‘heroes’. (You may have noticed the numerous, subtle “10” references that lead to the title!) During the course of the show Gwen appears to develop magical powers and Granpa Max reveals some secrets of his own that suggest the appearance of the Omnitrix at their location was not a coincidence.

That show ran for four seasons before being changed to Ben 10: Alien Force. In that show the characters of Ben & Gwen are now 15 and former nemesis Kevin Levin (Kevin 11, you see what they did there) becomes an ally and Max has disappeared.

That ran for four seasons and has been changed into the currently running show Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. The characters have remained the same, although now 16 & 17, and Ben now has a car of his own, but The Omnitrix has been replaced by The Ultimatrix (or Ultimate Omnitrix) which, in addition to the same powers of The Omnitrix, also has the ability to to transform Ben into the ultimate version of the chosen alien.

Let's face it, BEN 10 is one of the most popular animated series ever seen in recent times. Since 2005, Cartoon Network has produced a 100+ episodes of three separate series as well as one animated and two live-action tele movies.

Now according to Variety, producer Joel Silver has signed to develop a live-action feature version, with an eye toward distribution via Warner Bros. Here's what he had to say about the upcoming project.

"I think we have to try something fresh and go at it in a way that stays true to the original material. I have a 5-year-old and a 9-year-old, so it's somewhere between them."

On the plus side, Stu Snyder, who is the chief operating officer of Turner's animation, young adults and kids media division added his comment regarding Silver's involvement.

"I cannot think of anyone better suited than Joel Silver to develop a theatrical action-driven adventure based on our franchise Ben 10."

Meanwhile, Dark Castle's Steve Richards has gone on a record stating that the live-action version of BEN 10 would be completely recast from the character's previous live-action incarnations, and wants to go as big as possible with the project.

"We really see this as a large, big-budgeted tentpole movie."

Silver and Dark Castle are currently looking for writers to pen the live-action version.

The video clip bellow shows Doraemon being interviewed by Tetuko, a very famous Japanese TV host, on her show, Tetuko no heya (Tetuko’s room), which has aired every weekday for the past 30 years. Tetuko interviews very well known people and, although it’s very odd to have a cartoon character as a guest, this time it’s Doraemon’s turn. And Doraemon has revealed what he originally looked like.

Doraemon is actually a robot who travels to the future under Sewashi’s (Nobita’s great-great-great-grandson’s) orders, in order to make changes that affect the present. When Doraemon lived in the future, he was yellow and had ears. But, one day, a mouse robot ate his ears and Doraemon cried so hard that the tears rubbed the yellow off. That’s how he turned blue.

Doraemon’s story begins in the 22nd Century. He was a defective robot who was auctioned off and sold to a very poor family. The family- Nobita’s descendants- were living in misery due to the huge debts inherited from their great, great, great grandfather. Sewashi decided this could not go on like that. So, he sent Doraemon back to the past in order to help Nobita become a better person. The idea was that this would change the future and so improve the family’s lot in life.

Doraemon arrives in the past, popping up in Nobita’s desk drawer. He lives with Nobita from then on and tries to stop him from becoming a failure. Each time Nobita gets into trouble, Doraemon digs into his fourth dimension pocket and uses gadgets from the future to fix the problem.

Naruto was born as the son of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and the Nine-Tails' second jinchūriki, Kushina Uzumaki. Naruto's parents named him after the main character of Jiraiya's first book, thus making the Sannin his godfather.[4]

Prior to Naruto's birth, his parents and the Third Hokage knew that the seal that kept the Nine-Tails within Kushina would be in danger of breaking during childbirth.[5] To prevent that threat Kushina was taken a short distance outside of the village to give birth in a secure, secret location with Biwako Sarutobi and Taji as her midwives, a few ANBU as security, and Minato to keep the seal in place. However, immediately after Kushina gave birth, Tobi appeared and took Naruto hostage, demanding that Minato step away from Kushina or he would kill the newborn child. He then used a clever diversion that forced Minato to transport the baby to a safer location, allowing him to escape with Kushina. By the time Minato could intervene, Tobi had already succeeded in releasing the Nine-Tails.

Fortunately, Kushina (who survived the extraction thanks to her strong vitality) was saved by Minato and brought to Naruto, leaving the weakened mother to care for the sleeping Naruto while Minato went to combat Tobi. To save the village, Minato sacrificed his life to seal the Nine-Tails within Naruto, believing that his son would someday have need of the beast's power to defeat Tobi.[6] Suddenly orphaned, Naruto was left to grow up knowing nothing of his parents, receiving only his mother's last name because the Third Hokage thought that it was best that nobody knew that he was related to the Fourth Hokage.

Before Minato died, he asked that the villagers of Konoha view Naruto as a hero who had helped defeat the Nine-Tails. However, only a few of the villagers honoured his request, while most instead resented him for containing the monster that had destroyed their home. In light of this, the Third Hokage decreed that nobody should ever speak of the truth about Naruto, hoping that by doing this, their children would not resent him as they did. The children, however, followed their parents' lead, despite not knowing why. Apart from the Third Hokage, Iruka Umino was the only one who acted as a surrogate family to the young Naruto along with the owner of Ramen Ichiraku: Teuchi and his daughter Ayame to some extent.

When Naruto first met Sasuke Uchiha in the Ninja Academy, they were matched to spar against each other. Naruto was excited at the opportunity to defeat Sasuke and become so popular like him, however he was easily beaten. By looking at Sasuke's eyes, Naruto realised that they were filled with hatred. Sasuke Uchiha (うちはサスケ, Uchiha Sasuke) is a main character in the Naruto series. He was originally introduced as a protagonist, a member of Konohagakure's Team 7. As the series progressed, he became an antagonist, culminating in his association with Akatsuki, becoming one of the most dynamic characters in the series. Sasuke is currently a missing-nin, an international criminal, and most likely the last surviving member of the Uchiha clan.

Sasuke is the youngest son of the Konoha Military Police Force captain and Uchiha clan head, Fugaku Uchiha and his wife Mikoto. Mikoto named him after the father of the Third Hokage in hopes that he would grow up to be a great ninja like his namesake.[4] As a child, Sasuke grew up in the shadow of his older brother, Itachi Uchiha who was an acknowledged prodigy viewed by the Uchiha clan as a genius, and whose work would further strengthen the bonds between the village and the clan. Sasuke's father in particular took an active interest in Itachi. Itachi, on the other hand, was rather ambivalent and full of oddly conflicting undercurrents, acknowledging Sasuke by taking interest in his progress as a ninja and spending time playing with him when even their father did not. Even after Sasuke enrolled in the Ninja Academy, he was still unable to escape Itachi's shadow.[5] Despite consistently scoring at the top of every class, Sasuke failed to receive any recognition from his father, who defined Sasuke's success only in terms of his older brother.[6] Itachi acknowledged the rivalry Sasuke felt telling him: "We are brothers. I am the wall you must climb over, so you and I will continue to exist together."

Nevertheless Itachi deeply cared for his younger brother and Sasuke looked up to Itachi, wanting to be more like him.

The relationship between Itachi and his father deteriorated further after Itachi was questioned by other members of the Uchiha clan regarding the apparent suicide of his best friend, Shisui. As Itachi's behaviour became increasingly bizarre, Sasuke's father began spending more time with Sasuke, and began teaching him the Great Fireball Technique, a common family technique seen as a sign of coming of age in the Uchiha clan.[7] When Sasuke first tried to perform the technique, he only produced a small flame and after that, some smoke. His father said that Itachi was able to do it on his first try at Sasuke's age, which disappointed him. Later, with one week of training, Sasuke (age 7 at the time) performed the technique in front of his father, proving himself a genius as well in his own right and finally receiving his father's recognition. Sasuke's father told him that he could now proudly wear the clan's emblem on his back. Following this, Sasuke also received a stern warning not to follow in Itachi's footsteps any further, surprising him as before, he was told to be like him; and his father showing he was proud of Sasuke for the first time the same way as he used to with Itachi.

On one fateful night, Itachi slew every member of the Uchiha clan, sparing only Sasuke, saying that he was not even worth killing. In addition, Itachi told him, "You've always wanted to surpass me. That's why I'm going to let you live… if you wish to kill me, then hate me, despise me… and by all means flee, cling to your wretched life." Itachi also revealed to Sasuke where the secret meeting place of the Uchiha was hidden, and suggested that Sasuke go there to learn what the true history and purpose of the Sharingan was. He told him that "to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan," he "had to kill the person he was closest to", and that "when we battle, we should have the same eyes". Sasuke thought he had fainted after this, but later remembered that he had managed to stand back up, awaken his Sharingan, and pursued Itachi. Upon reaching Itachi, he used knives to knock off his forehead protector. Itachi was seen shedding a tear as he was picking up the forehead protector. He then proceeded to incapacitate Sasuke, who awoke in the hospital remembering only that which Itachi wanted him to.
